Machine loading intelligently automated: Experience KUKA at EMO 2023

When the leading global trade fair for production technology, EMO, opens its doors in Hanover from September 18 to 23, 2023, KUKA will be there. Mobile support thanks to mobile robotics

In our “Mobility Area” at EMO, you will gain insights into the possibilities of mobile robotics. Experience the HRC-capable mobile KMR iisy, which is intuitive to operate, fast and safe on the move. Get to know the KMP 1500P platform, which confidently moves up to 1,500 kilograms. And discover the potential of the MAIROFlex iisy automation cell without a protective fence, which allows machine tools to be supplied and loaded flexibly as never before. Its small footprint, simple installation and attractive cost-benefit ratio make the MAIROFlex iisy attractive for small and medium-sized companies, among others.

Component removal from boxes – fast, collision- and singularity-free

Last year, the software product KUKA.SmartBinPicking celebrated its premiere, and now it is supporting international companies in production. Based on KUKA's outstanding robotics and path planning expertise, the KR CYBERTECH confidently and precisely reaches into the crate and feeds components for further processing. Experience for yourself how the robot moves collision-free in the crate with AI-based object recognition and acts with the robot hand extremely close to the component, so that the robot flange does not require an extension.

Gain even more detailed insights with KUKA.Sim and VDMA UMATI

The KUKA.SmartBinPicking software builds on proven functionalities of the KUKA.Sim simulation environment and also makes the 3D function modules efficiently usable for the KUKA path planner within a consistent operating concept. Another exciting feature: with the aid of a VDMA UMATI dashboard, trade fair visitors can gain an insight into the production data. Thanks to an interface, UMATI displays data on the OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) of machine tools in the dashboard. UMATI stands for simplified, secure data exchange between machines, components and systems - for the transparent, efficient production of tomorrow.

Strong support for your production: KUKA.PLC mxAutomation

Thanks to KUKA.PLC mxAutomation, KUKA robots can be effortlessly integrated into existing operating concepts and programmed without any special robot programming knowledge.

At the KUKA booth at EMO, visitors can experience software that makes production easier and more efficient. For example, the KUKA.PLC mxAutomation interface, which enables external controllers to command KUKA robots with all basic motion commands. Robot and machine control merge – this makes it possible to integrate KUKA robots effortlessly into existing operating concepts. Programming and adaptation of programs and robot positions can be implemented by an operator using their familiar machine language. This means that no special robot programming knowledge is required.
