KUKA Roboter GmbH is presenting the new KR QUANTEC palletizing robots at IREX in Japan
16 listopada 2011
Augsburg/Tokyo, November 2011 – KUKA Roboter serves up a world premiere at the IREX international robot exhibition in the Japanese city of Tokyo: introduction of the palletizing robots completes the KR QUANTEC series.
At IREX, the international trade fair for robotics in Tokyo from 9 to 12 November 2011, KUKA is celebrating completion of the new product generation with the KR QUANTEC palletizing robots at Booth IR2-58 (Industrial Robot Zone, East 2 Hall). With the KR QUANTEC robot series, the KUKA.WorkVisual software platform and the KR C4 robot controller, automation becomes easy.
Fast stacking specialists with a long reach
The major challenge for palletizing robots operating in system concepts in the food industry or logistics sector is that of speed. This must not be achieved at the cost of precision, however. Combining both objectives is no problem for the new KR QUANTEC palletizing robots. The reduced weight of the robots makes the KR QUANTEC palletizers extremely fast – cycle times are becoming vastly shorter. The types KR 120 KR QUANTEC PA, KR 180 KR QUANTEC PA and KR 240 KR QUANTEC PA are available – for payloads of 120, 180 and 240 kilograms respectively. All three have a reach of 3,200 mm. An additional highlight of the palletizing robots is the hollow-wrist design with a 60 mm opening. This allows all common types of hollow-wrist dress packages to be routed in the protected interior of the arm, with easy access for quick exchange when necessary. This simplifies offline programming and extends the service life of the dress package.
Simply safe: KR C4 – the control system of the future
With the KR C4, KUKA is also presenting visitors to the IREX trade fair with a control system that integrates robot, motion, sequence and process control. But that is not all. Even more important is the fact that the complete safety controller is seamlessly integrated into the KR C4 control system. In the new control system, KUKA has systematically dispensed with limiting hardware and replaced it with intelligent software functions.
KUKA in Asia
With the presentation of the new product generation in Japan, KUKA is underscoring its presence on the Asian markets. KUKA places great importance on close local contact with customers. For many years, KUKA Roboter has been strengthening its local presence with the founding of subsidiaries in Japan, China, India, Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan, and the establishment of decentralized branch offices focusing on sales and customer service. The idea behind this is to combine the quality and innovation of KUKA products with local sales and customer service expertise to form a successful unit.
