Emilia Müller, bavarian minister of economic affairs, briefed on KUKA Group strategy
At the invitation of KUKA Aktiengesellschaft, the Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, Ms. Emilia Müller, visited the KUKA Group's headquarters in Augsburg on June 6, 2008

The Minister demonstrated considerable interest in the company's manufacturing operations, current research projects and product innovations. Gerhard Wiedemann, the KUKA Group's CEO, gave Ms. Müller a detailed explanation of the company's "Automation Made by KUKA" business model. He also briefed Ms. Müller on the KUKA Group's strategy of systematically focusing on general industry while at the same time implementing innovative solutions for the automotive industry. Following the meeting, the minister was given a tour of the KUKA Group's Augsburg facility, during which time employees and apprentices had an opportunity to speak to her.
The Minister, Mr. Wiedemann and politicians from the Augsburg area subsequently discussed current issues related to promoting the Augsburg technology region. Some of the topics explored included combining carbon fiber composite materials and establishing research institutes in Augsburg. During the visit, Ms. Müller confirmed that the Bavarian state government will actively support any settlement of research facilities in Augsburg. In this regard, the KUKA Group is looking forward to excellent teamwork and networking even more closely with the research and scientific community.
