KUKA Systems supplies assembly line to Ford in North America
The Ford Motor Company has awarded the complete "B Car" body shop to KUKA Systems, a division belonging to Augsburg-based KUKA Aktiengesellschaft

The system will be installed at the Ford of Mexico Cuautitlan Assembly Plant. The "B Car" is part of Ford's plan to introduce its popular European "Fiesta" model to the North American market.
The order, which will be handled by KUKA Systems Corporation North America based in greater Detroit, USA, is worth about 50 million US dollars in total. The manufacturing system will feature six completely new functional groups. Preliminary work is scheduled to start in a few weeks, with installation planned for December of this year. Handover of the entire line is slated for June 2009.
