Anuga FoodTec in Cologne is the world's only supplier fair that covers all aspects of food and beverage production. From 19 to 22 March 2024, KUKA will be presenting in hall 7 at stand A-048 / B-049 automation solutions that cover the entire process from food delivery to packaging and distribution.

For the international food and beverage industry, automation is a fundamental factor along the entire value chain: KUKA as a strong partner will be demonstrating suitable products at the trade fair – from process technology to fast pick & place applications, food safety and packaging through to digitalization and intralogistics.

In addition to food safety, environmental protection is also becoming increasingly important for the industry. This also influences the development of KUKA products; for example, the energy consumption of the latest KR C5 controller generation has been reduced by up to 50% compared to previous versions. Here, KUKA is making a significant contribution to reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO) over the life cycle of a robot.

Flexible food automation: from production to distribution with KUKA

With conventional handling, food passes through many hands before it is ready for sale on the shelf. However, due to the shortage of skilled labour, these hands are often hard to find. Automation is helping the food industry. Industrial robots by KUKA can be used for a wide range of applications. Whether delivery, packaging, palletising or distribution – the entire process chain in the food industry can be automated. Hygienic oil robots for food safety

Hygienic Oil (HO) robots ensure that the food is safe and tastes good. Food safety is guaranteed by the use of food-grade greases in HO robots: The H1 lubricants used are tested and approved for their suitability for use with food. Any contact of food with H1 lubricants therefore poses no risk to consumers. Thanks to its consistently holistic approach, KUKA guarantees food safety along the entire process chain: all axes of the HO robots and the energy supply to the mould are equipped with food-grade lubricants (NSF approved). KUKA thus offers solutions for the food industry that combine the requirements of food safety with the advantages of automation. Come and see for yourself at the KUKA stand!

The KR QUANTEC PA Arctic palletizes even at -30 °C

Working in extreme cold is unpleasant for humans. However, the KR QUANTEC PA Arctic, which KUKA is presenting at the trade fair, is unimpressed by temperatures as low as -30 °C. The robot is the cold-resistant adaptation of the proven KR QUANTEC PA family. The palletizer is characterized by short cycle times, high flexibility and extreme precision when stacking and depositing. In addition, the KR QUANTEC PA Arctic is the only robot on the market that can be used in cold environments without a protective cover. Its robot arm does not need to be heated. It also has an energy supply up to the flange, which is designed for extreme cold.

The KR QUANTEC PA Arctic is particularly resistant to the cold. Even at temperatures as low as -30 °C, the palletizer continues to stack continuously.
