Gerhard Wiedemann and Bernd Liepert appointed to IWKA executive board
In order to integrate the operational management of the IWKA Group's divisions more tightly into IWKA Aktiengesellschaft, Mr. Gerhard Wiedemann, Chairman of the board of directors of KUKA Schweissanlagen GmbH, and Mr. Bernd Liepert, Chairman of the board of directors of KUKA Roboter GmbH, were made full members of the Executive Board of IWKA Aktiengesellschaft effective April 1, 2006

The Supervisory Board made the decision in its meeting of March 28, 2006. This completes the reorganization at the Executive Board level, and the holding company is now better networked with the business operations.
Effective April 1, 2006, the Executive Board of IWKA Aktiengesellschaft is therefore comprised of the following persons:

Gerhard Wiedemann (59), Dipl.-Ing. (FH), graduated as a mechanical engineer and later studied part-time to earn a degree in business administration. After working for MAN, Augsburg, and Brunnhuber Maschinenfabrik in Augsburg, he joined the company in 1977, and has held numerous management positions at KUKA Schweissanlagen and Roboter GmbH and later at KUKA Schweissanlagen GmbH. In August 2000, Gerhard Wiedemann was appointed Chairman of the board of directors of KUKA Schweissanlagen GmbH. The position also makes him responsible for the entire welding systems group. With his appointment to the Executive Board, Gerhard Wiedemann assumes responsibility for IWKA's Automotive division companies; at the same time he will continue to be Chairman of the board of directors of KUKA Schweissanlagen GmbH.
Bernd Liepert (43) has a degree in mathematics and started his professional career in 1990 in KUKA Schweissanlagen und Roboter GmbH's software development area. In 1996, he took the helm of control development of KUKA Roboter GmbH. In 1998, he joined the ranks of the board of directors, responsible for development and design. Bernd Liepert has been the Chairman of the board of directors of KUKA Roboter GmbH since 2000 and is thereby also responsible for the entire robotics group. He will be the Executive Board member responsible for the Robotics division, while keeping his job as Chairman of the board of directors of KUKA Roboter GmbH.
