KUKA at K 2019

The plastics industry is booming. Nevertheless, it is still facing challenges: at K 2019, KUKA is presenting various solutions for responding to these challenges. The world’s leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry is being held in Dusseldorf from 16 to 23 October.

KUKA is exhibiting at this year’s K trade fair under the motto “industrial intelligence in automation _ products and expertise for the plastics industry”. One highlight at the KUKA trade fair booth is an environmentally-friendly set of reusable cutlery that is being handed out to trade fair visitors. The key machining operations on the cutlery are performed by the flexobot robotic cell. The cell is centered on a KUKA KR 10 R900-2 robot. It is ideally suited to cooperation with injection molding machines.

Clean and flexible material handling with a CO₂ laser robot 

CO₂ laser cutting enables the automated 3D cutting and perforation of workpieces made from a range of different plastics. Another topic being showcased is the robotic solution for the extrusion of thermoplastic elastomer.
