KUKA wins major contract worth 90 million euro
Augsburg, May 4, 2016 - The Systems division has won a major new contract from a renowned European car manufacturer with a total volume of around 90 million euro. The order was booked in the first quarter of 2016.

The contract covers the body production for a new vehicle model. Business relations with the customer have existed for more than ten years. KUKA already planned and supplied the complex welding lines for manufacturing the predecessor model at various plants in Europe.
These lines are now going to be converted for production of the new vehicle model. For this purpose, the components to be integrated will be virtually commissioned and tested in advance. Additionally, a completely new manufacturing facility is to be set up at a plant in the USA. Start of production is scheduled for 2018.
