Thirty-nine new apprentices start their careers at KUKA
Growing number of young women learn a trade
14 September 2011
A total of thirty-nine apprentices started their careers at KUKA in Augsburg on September 1. The recruits selected apprenticeships such as the following from the wide range of technical and commercial careers offered by the company: mechatronics technician (14), industrial mechanic (8), electronics technician for automation technology (6) and industrial accountant (4). Increasing interest from young women was especially evident.
"Twenty percent of the recruits learning a trade are now women," explains Manfred Schussmann, head of the training center. "The excellent performance of our young ladies is impressive and contributes to the improvement of our overall apprenticeship statistics.
For the first time this year, KUKA is offering a course for freight forwarding administrators in addition to the aforementioned technical and commercial trades. In addition, several openings are available in the Dual Studies program for mechatronics or electronics apprentices.
KUKA wishes its new recruits every success as they start their careers.
