SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2023: How KUKA makes companies fit for the future
The world's leading trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN will be the meeting place for joining, cutting and coating technology in Essen from September 11 to 15, 2023. Right in the middle of it all: KUKA's solutions. In Hall 3 at Booth C47, powerful welding robots, success stories from the industry and much more are expecting you.
At SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN, trade fair visitors can experience which metalworking tasks are already being automated – to the utmost satisfaction of customers, around the clock and with consistent quality. This helps KUKA customers to defy the shortage of skilled workers and respond flexibly to changing requirements. At our booth, you’ll find robots in a wide range of payload classes which are capable of spot and TIG welding, MIG/MAG welding, laser and laser hybrid weld-ing, as well as friction stir welding (FSW). They advance small craft businesses as well as medium-sized enterprises or globally active corporations. Discover how we bring KUKA’s trade fair motto "industrial intelligence in automation_the KUKA world of welding" to life.
Experience thick sheet metal welding live with new robot and positioner
Visitors to the trade fair will be able to observe the new KR CYBERTECH nano ARC HW Edition at work: In its cell, the robot carries out a high-performance welding process, which is predestined for thick sheet metal applications, on typical components from the agricultural and construction machinery industry. To do this, the KR CYBERTECH nano ARC HW Edition uses Lincoln Electric's innovative Hyperfill welding process with a dou-ble-wire system. Despite the double wire, the hose package fits inside the hollow shaft of the KUKA robot, creating a very compact setup. Like all Edition Roboter from KUKA, it makes it particularly easy to get started with automated welding, offering performance and flexibility with an excellent cost-benefit ratio.
The correct positioning of the component during the welding process is important for optimum welding quality. The new five-axis positioner – a very compact two-station rotary-tilt table – allows the welds to be performed in the tub position. While welding is taking place on one station, loading and unloading can be carried out on the second station in parallel with the cycle time.
Rotary friction welding
KUKA and Thompson welding machines make industrial joining of a wide variety of materials easy and cost-effective. Weld even demanding and safety-relevant material combinations in technology trends such as e-mobility and lightweight construction with high quality.
Hybrid rotary friction welding
Learn how the new hybrid friction welding process on the rotary friction welding machine Genius Hybrid can save you up to 40% in cycle time and 75% in in component shortening during the welding process. In this new type of pressure welding process, additional heat is introduced into the component conductively via electricity after the friction process. This allows the component properties to be further improved and reduces the process forces by up to 60%.
Magnetarc welding
Did you know that you can use the industrial welding process introduced by KUKA in 1972 to join even spheroidal cast iron and steel and thus mass-produce very cost-effective components? Find out about the possibilities for your company.
Simple, hand-guided programming
The wireless control package KUKA ready2_pilot enables hand-guiding of industrial robots in a particularly user-friendly way – simply, conveniently and quickly. Configurable function keys on the 6D navigation mouse and EasyTeach functions on the KUKA smartPAD handheld pendant addition-ally support simple application programming.
Simulation and offline programming
KUKA.Sim enables feasibility and cycle time studies in the planning phase as well as offline programming of the applications. For gas-shielded welding, there is a special add-on that facilitates the programming of specific welding functions. Come by our booth and use KUKA.Sim to program our clamping block robot live.
KUKA Customer Journey
Visitors to the fair will gain an insight into KUKA's end-to-end product and service portfolio, which provides customers with optimum support in all phases of the life cycle of their systems – from planning, commissioning and operation to service and second life.
Broad portfolio, many years of experience in metalworking
Implementing welding solutions with KUKA means benefiting from the expertise of the engineers and technicians in all welding technologies and relevant industries. From the KR AGILUS small robot, through the KR CYBERTECH and KR IONTEC medium payload class robots, to the KR QUANTEC and KR FORTEC ultra heavy-duty robots, we are demonstrating a wide variety of welding applications in different industries. The KUKA software packages and the particularly flexible and energy-efficient KR C5 and KR C5 micro robot controllers support the space-saving implementation of a wide range of welding-related projects. You can find out how we can support you in planning your system and which maintenance and service packages we offer for optimum operation of your system by talking to the KUKA Customer Service team on site.
The international trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is still the world's most important event for the metalworking industry. It is the place to find the latest products, technologies and innovations. World-class suppliers and leading companies in the industry meet there.
Refuel and have fun with club_KUKA
The internationally popular show cell club_KUKA provides relaxation in the hustle and bustle of the trade fair. Here you can experience an unusual band live: a KR 3 AGILUS sits at the drums, loops its beats and sets the pace. The KR CYBERTECH nano is the nimble DJ with rhythm in his blood. In addition, a KR AGILUS performs as a light artist and enchants with soft and space-grasping movements. The LBR iiwa, who curiously keeps an eye on the unusual robot party, should not be missing. Let yourself be sur-prised and entertained!
