"It's about finding the best solution"
For Lars Cardemar, Sales Manager Sweden at KUKA with a special focus on Swedish system partners. It all started in a sports store in Gothenburg in the beginning of the 90s. Advanced Robots
In the sports business, he found a new side of himself. Guiding a customer to the right choice, and be able to seeing the needs.
- Selling for the sake of selling... it's never been my thing. The interaction is interesting, it's about being honest, knowledgeable and finding the best solution. Today, it is about advanced robots. - But the principle is the same, he says. He started at KUKA Nordic in 2015, then with a number of sales jobs focusing on technical equipment and automation. He also has a background as a mechanical draftsman - a few years after his military service, Lars Cardemar joined his father's consulting company with a focus on design assignments for the automotive industry. He himself had studied both economics and technology at high school. - So I had basic knowledge of drawing in CAD.

He describes the life as a designer was both tough and an interesting time. However, the more social aspects of sales work appealed, and after a couple of years he left the family business and entered the world of products with a focus on industrial technology. What makes him such a great salesman? According to Lars, it's about building trust.
- Honesty is important. I would never just rip off something just to make a deal, that's an attitude I dislike.

For example, learning a whole range of robots, ... that takes time, right?
- You can count on months, up to a year, before most things are in place.
Do you then know the stuff? - Yes, but after another year or so you will enter a new crisis.
What then? - That's when you become good enough to understand how much more there is to learn. But now, after eight years in the industry, I feel pretty confident.
